Jessica Hernandez: i used to be all the time singing, and that i sang in lots of bands in excessive school and in school. i was always around contraptions as a result of all of my chums had been super musical. i was choosing them up and that i felt like I may, naturally. If there turned into a piano within the room and my friends have been taking part in, I might hop on and work out the keys by listening. I felt like I all the time had the capacity but I figured i used to be simply intimidated. The older I received, the greater I stored announcing i was too old to birth researching, and when i was 19, [I asked myself], "Why am I waiting until I'm 40 to start doing all the things I need to do? I may still simply do it now." That's when I dropped out of college, and i bought a guitar, purchased a keyboard, and taught myself a way to play each.

It's kind of a blending of what i was surrounded by means of growing to be up and [the city] just subconsciously made its approach into the style that I write in.

JH: It's unbelievable. We've best performed one show with both of them to date … We performed riot Fest with [Social Distortion] over the summer in Chicago. I search for to them a whole lot, and so its going to be cool to tour with them, certainly considering the fact that their sound is so a lot diverse from ours … their crowd offers you a fine looking good reception to the type of stuff that we're doing. [It's the] identical factor with J. Roddy Walston. I'm curious to see how the shows go as a result of we have best played one exhibit with them. That show went really smartly, which allowed us to do extra suggests together.

I feel just like the band is ultimately in a position to grow and expand as a result of now it's no longer just americans seeing us but people seeing us, taking a CD, sharing it with their chums, and then making them come to the subsequent reveal. [We've] exponentially been capable of develop considering that the album has come out. Now we're just form of excited to get the next one out. It's cool to be in a position to do this together and be on the road together and keep growing and getting our first television spots and getting all this stuff. We've been doing it for so long that ultimately seeing these small things birth to pop up makes it basically pleasant and pleasing for us. I'm simply curious to peer where our song goes and where the subsequent yr and the next album … takes us.
