ATHENS — State Senator George Amedore commemorated the town of Athens on its 2 hundredth anniversary of the 1815 signing of legislation setting up town and designating its boundaries Saturday.
The long island State Senate passed a resolution Wednesday, subsidized by Amedore, to honor the anniversary and designate the city's boundaries. Amedore presented a duplicate of the Senate decision to city officers at a reception at the Athens firehouse.
